Switching Translations
- Click the translation dropdown in the top header bar
- Select your preferred translation from the list
- A toast notification confirms the switch
- All subsequent verses will display in the new translation
- Your selection persists across sessions
Offline Bible Bundles
VerseAir bundles complete Bible texts locally so they work without any internet connection:
- Free plan: KJV bundled offline
- Pro/Enterprise: KJV, WEB, ASV, and YLT bundled offline
- Other translations are fetched from online APIs and cached locally after first view
- Offline bundles are perfect for churches with unreliable wifi
Verse Caching
VerseAir uses a 4-tier caching system for the fastest possible verse display:
- Memory cache — verses viewed this session load instantly
- IndexedDB cache — verses from previous sessions, persisted on disk
- API fetch — fetches from multiple Bible APIs simultaneously; first response wins
- Bundled offline Bible — fallback to local KJV/WEB/ASV/YLT files
Cache statistics are visible in settings, showing how many verses are stored offline. You can clear the cache if needed.
Tips
- Set your church’s preferred translation as default — it persists across sessions
- KJV is always available offline, even on the Free plan
- If a verse fails to load, VerseAir automatically tries backup APIs
- Internet is required for non-bundled translations on first access; after that, they’re cached
